Are You Protected?

Recently, I have been hearing a lot of horror stories about people's identities being stolen or people stealing credit cards.  Just a few weeks ago I watched a video of a woman confront a Starbucks employee is recording her credit card information and making purchases at a nearby store. From the looks of the video the victim was not very sure that the employee had done it so she confronted her in way that would get her to confess. Apparently, the employee had taken the woman's credit card and then stated that she had to go get more tape for the machine in order to print a receipt. Because it took her an extended amount of time, it lead the woman to believe that she was the culprit behind her unauthorized charges.  Ultimately, the employee spilled the beans and admitted to stealing the ladies credit card information.

And then there's going about your daily life and someone having a credit card scanner. Now I'm not sure how this works, but it does. Thank God it has not happened to me and I have only heard about it. I am a avid account checker and I tend to keep all my receipts for an extended period of time.
