Oh Gosh, It's That Time Again!

Here Comes Mother Nature

I was sitting at work and wondering what is it that I can write on my blog that I would like to share with others and then it hit me.  With mother nature knocking at my door, why not talk about her and all the "joy" that she brings.  For anyone that did not catch that, I was being sarcastic, hehe.

At age 11, I got my first visit and how unprepared I was.  All that I knew was from what I heard in sex education and that was not much.  So she came and brought the pain with her.  It was so painful, I had to start taking prescription medicines (and get on birth control) but they only worked 50% of the time.  All throughout high school, I suffered from severe cramping and can almost bet you I missed one day of school every month.

I still experienced painful cramps during college and the prescription medicines no longer helped due to prolonged usage, I guess! By my senior year, I had begun taking Excedrin Menstrual Complete and it alleviated pain to some extent. One day I ran out of water and had nothing else to take the Excedrin with so I asked my roommate if I could have a Dr. Pepper.  The combination of the Dr. Pepper and Excedrin was wonderful.

Now, let me say this... I am no girly girl nor am I prissy so I was totally okay with the effects of the two, but some may deem them unacceptable for a woman. Basically, I said all that to say that it makes you burp and you may not always be able to control the volume.  When it comes to being ill-mannered, per se, I will take that over cramping ANY DAY!!

You all will never understand how happy I was to finally find something that would take away 80% of my pain. And then, like all other good things, Excedrin Menstrual Complete, had to come to an end.  It was recalled and I've not seen it in stores since.  So, here I was back at step one.  I begin trying other medicines with Dr. Pepper and they would help, but it was nothing like Excedrin and trust me I have tried it all. I recently tried Excedrin Extra Strength and it seems to be a contender so I am going to try that until I find something better.

A few other things that I utilize from time to time to help with the pain are...

  • Starbucks French Vanilla Frapp
  • Handy Dandy Heating Pad
  • Birth Control (regular use)

Check out a few tips I've pinned on my Pinterest board, here..

How do you alleviate the pain of cramps? Comment below....

Running Belt w/ expandable pocket

Like or Dislike?... Alaska Bear Inc: Running Belt with expandable pocket

Most people are aware that October is National Breast Cancer Month. Last Saturday I attended a local walk and was faced with the carry everything in my hand dilemma.  At that moment, I wished I’d had a book bag purse, jogging pants with pockets, or one of those belt things that had pockets. I didn’t have any of those items so holding my phone, wallet and keys was what I did.

A few days ago, I visited a site, www.tomoson.com, which allows you to inform select companies which of their offered products you would be interested in trying, in exchange for reviews and/or exposure.  I ran across a running belt offered by a company called Alaska Bear Inc.  I applied to try the product, free of charge, and post on a few of my social media sites.

Today, I received the Running Belt in the mail and when I opened the product, I had to do a double take.  My exact words were, “What the hell is this?” The size of the product was a shock to me, but it definitely lived up to its name.   At first take the Running Belt with expandable pocket is very petite and doesn’t appear to hold much, but I was able to fit in items I would never expect to be suitable.  To be exact, I was able to put my Samsung galaxy 4, completely stuffed Vera Bradley wristlet and a large pair of sunglasses into the belt (see photos below).

The running belt is adjustable for different waist sizes, it’s petite so it doesn’t take up too much space, and the elasticity is awesome.  I would rate this product a 10 out of 10 with a note that I would like to have the option of color choices. I have not gone running with the product yet, but when I do, I will post an update to let you all know how durable the item is when put to work.  Also, I am going to let a few other people try the running belt and get their opinion was well.  Be back later!!

FREE, FREE, FREE, FREEEEEEEE!!!

October 18, 2012 6:49 PM CST

If you love free stuff, then this post is for you. If you have never heard of Influenster, you are missing out.  I joined Influenster on May 15, 2014 and it has been more than worth it.  Basically, this site provides some of the best products for selected members to try and share with their family in friends. You ever heard, "Nothing in life is free," well whoever said that was right.  You've got to put in work and show the Influenster team why they should select you for upcoming campaigns.  They have surveys, allow you to review products as well answer questions asked by other members, in order to see if you're a good fit.

Late 2014, I got an email from Influenster that took my breath away.  It said your Keurig is on the way. Lawd knows I had been wanting a Keurig for some time, but they were just too expensive for me.  Not only did they send me a free Keurig 2.0, but almost all the accessories that went with it.  I receive the carafe container for larger brewing options, the kcup carousel, and multiple kcups.  This way the best day of my life. I was baffled that they would send me a free item that was upward of $200 in the stores.

Prior to that, I have received a box that contained different beauty products and candy (see picture below).  The best part of all you have to do is let your following know that you are trying this free item that you received from Influenster. I posted pictures on my instagram and facebook page and used a hashtag for each product that I received to socially thank the companies for their products..
This box included...
  • Sally Hansen airbrush legs
  • Rimmel Kate mascara
  • Ways to make money on ebay
  • Coupon for W Club wine
  • Rimmel Lasting Kate lipstick
  • Not your Mother's Deja Vu Do Style Extender
  • Dove Whole Burberries
  • Ecotools Finishing Makeup Brush

What will you get in your box from Influenster? Check them out and share with your friends... www.influenster.com/660784

Smucker's Uncrustables Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches

Like or Dislike?... Smucker's Uncrustables Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches

I did not grow up on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, or any other sandwich at that. I have never had a taste for peanut butter or jelly unless it was highly disguised.  It wasn't until I graduated college in 2011 and was hungry as a hell, that I ate a PB&J sandwich and LOVED it!! I ate it for a while and then like all things, grew tired of it.  Once day in 2013, my coworker was sitting at her desk eating this gawd awful thing that she referred to as a PB&J sandwich.  I analyzed it, had a staring contest with it and ultimately decided that I was not for that.  A few weeks later, I found her preparing to eat yet another PB& J sandwich.  She offered so I said the hell with it and tried it.  It was awesome and is one of my favorite breakfast selections.

Trust me, this is a sandwich that everyone needs to try at least once.  You can't go wrong!!!! It's small, it's tasty and it's dripping of jelly. I found it at my local Walmart on the aisle with the frozen pizzas and appetizers, but may be located else where in your stores.

Try it and let me know what you think and let Smucker's know what you think. Like most companies, they appreciate customer feedback on their products.

Using the link below, you can locate product information about the sandwiches.

Red Diamond Sweet Tea

Like or Dislike?.... Red Diamond Sweet Tea...

For the last year, Red Diamond Tea (Sweet) has been hit and miss, more miss than anything though. I can taste a bit of sweetness, but not enough to be considered sweet tea. It definitely does not have as much as it did in the past. Red Diamond use to be so good to me that I even purchased the tea bags so I could make my own.  Problem is, those don't taste any better. Granted, I can add all the sugar I desire but, there is still a very strange taste that is left behind.  The gallon that I purchased states that it is "all natural" sweet tea so maybe been 100% natural is the problem.. I just want Red Diamond to go back to the original ingredients, if only just for the gallons that you all send to me. I'll be a product tester, whatever you need to just take me back to the way things use to be. PLEAZZZ!!!

Signed,

A Lover of the Original Red Diamond Tea (SWEET)
